PM is celebrating his birthday in Gujrat, Wishes pour in for himKevadia (Gujrat) Sep 17 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 69 on Tuesday. He is in his home state for the day as Gujarat has planned a day of fanfare, prayers, and rallies.

Modi reached Ahmedabad late on Monday. He started the day with blessings from his his mother, Heeraben.

Later he visited the cactus garden in Kevadia in Narmada district. He was seen taking a safari tour of the Khalvani Eco tourism site.

He also visited the Sardar Sarovar Dam later and perform a puja.

On PM Modi’s, Amit Shah calls him symbol of strong will

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 69th birthday and called him a symbol of strong will, decisive leadership and tireless hard work.

“Warm birthday wishes to the Prime Minister Mr. @narendramodi ji, the country’s most popular leader, a symbol of strong will, decisive leadership and tireless hard work. A new India emerging under your leadership has made a mark in the world as a strong, secure and trustworthy nation,” Shah tweeted.

Shah went on to say that along with development, Prime Minister Modi has given an unprecedented contribution in further enriching Indian culture.

Dalai Lama wishes long, healthy life of Modi

Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Tuesday wished a long and healthy life to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 69th birthday.

In a letter, the spiritual leader wrote: “As a long time guest of India, and as someone who cares deeply about this country, I congratulate you on the growing confidence you have brought about.

“India’s success not only benefits the people of India but also greatly contributes to the development of the world as a whole,” he said.

“As I have communicated to you earlier, I’m very encouraged by the growing interest young people across India are showing in ancient Indian knowledge, which shines like a sun in the East. I am convinced that the age-old Indian traditions of non-violent conduct — ‘ahimsa’, backed by a compassionate motivation — ‘karuna’, are not only relevant, but are also necessary in today’s world,” the Nobel Peace laureate wrote.

Gold crown offered at Varanasi temple on PM Modi’s b’day

A staunch supporter of Narendra Modi has offered a gold crown weighing 1.25 kg to the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple here to mark the Prime Minister’s 69th birthday.

Arvind Singh made the offering on Monday night on the eve of Modi’s birthday.

Singh told reporters that he had pledged to make the offering if Modi was reelected from his Varanasi parliamentary constituency for a second consecutive term.

“Modi is the one who is building the nation in a manner that was not done previously. I, therefore, decided to offer the gold crown to Lord Hanuman so that Modi’s and the nation’s future can also shine like gold. It is a gift to the Lord form the people of Varanasi.”

Buddhist leader greets Modi as Ladakh celebrates post 370

Buddhist spiritual leader the Gyalwang Drukpa, who is heading the 17th century Hemis monastery of Drukpa lineage here, the largest in the Himalayas, on Tuesday greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 69th birthday.

“It is with great enthusiasm #NaropaFestival Organising Committee wishes Prime Minister Narendra Modi a very Happy Birthday!” Gyalwang Drukpa tweeted.

“We express our heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India for uniting Ladakh with the country and invite all to join us in our celebrations at Hemis!”
